Another little spot I did for Vegetarian Times is out this month. The article was about how having a pet may decrease the risk of kids developing allergies. Heres how it looks in the magazine:

This is another sketch I really liked:

I am also in an upcoming group show in LA put together by Qpop Gallery and the Japanese American Cultural and Community center. Its titled Kamen Rider v. Super Sentai and the opening Nov 5. Kamen Rider and Super sentai are a hit Japanese tv series from the 70s onward later to be adapted by the west into power rangers. I never thought I’d be researching this topic of all things but research them I did. It turned out to be a lot more complicated than I thought, couldn’t keep all the villains and heros and episodes straight. Anyhow I didn’t feel like drawing people clad in rainbow spandex so decided to depict one of the villains, sort of as if he was a hero.

His name is Tran and he is the first child villain from the Super Sentai series. But he doesn’t fit in with either the good guys or the bad guys and ends up battling both. Apparently he’s telekinetic and wears this crazy glove with all sorts of buttons and when he presses one of them his enemies go flying.
For this piece I did a three layer print and what you cant see in the photo is that I used silver ink! I’ve been wanting to try it out for a while and turned out to be really shimmery. Big thanks to Chris Mitchell for asking me to participate in the show!
